Trail Race - Three down, one to go!

Astley Hall

The 3rd Chorley Harriers 4.4 mile race of the summer series took place in Astley Park with honours going to Matt Moorhouse of Salford Harriers. Chorley Harriers runners were also well amongst the prizes with Tom Belcher continuing to excel and was first home for the Harriers, narrowly missing out on a top 10 finish but delighted nonetheless to take the 1st place Junior Mens prize with a time of 27.03. Paul Jackson was the next Harrier back, taking 3rd V40 in the process in 29.01 narrowly edging out Andrew Thompson in 29.45. Dawn Atkins again showed good form and won the ladies race in 29.50. Mark Brown claimed the under 17s 1st place in 30.50 before Mike Ogle was led round to 2nd V60 by Martin Quinn in 36.44.

As the Haigh Hall series continued Tom Belcher added to his medal spree taking 1st junior man once again and 8th place overall. Paul Jackson followed in 16th place with Martin Quinn just missing out on the top 30 in 32nd place. Ian Crabtree then led Michael Ogle round to take joint 50th place.

Elsewhere, Martin Harrington continued his Jungfrau Marathon preparations with a trip to Sedbergh and managed 38th place in the challenging Lune Valley and Howgill 10 mile road race.
