ABOUT CHORLEY HARRIERS |
Chorley Harriers was founded in 1985 and for the past twelve years has been based at Chorley Cricket Club. Here we have good facilities including changing rooms (Men & Ladies), showers and access to the Clubhouse and Bar. The main senior training night is Thursday evenings at 7-30pm. Please use the link for other Training Times - speed sessions and juniors.
|
We have on average 100 senior members and around 50 juniors. The club competes in most running activities, including road running, on the fells, cross-country and on the track. Chorley Harriers is affiliated to the U.K. Athletics as well as various cross-country leagues. All abilities are welcome from novice to experienced athletes.
|
Every year the club holds a "Grand Prix" series or road races for its members with points to individuals for taking part, and prizes for the lucky ones! More importantly, you can always be sure of a warm welcome at these events, knowing other Chorley Harries will be there. A similar series of races is organised for the Cross-Country season and for the Fell Section. There are also plans to develop a triathlon sector, which is proving to be very popular. So the club enjoys a good healthy running scene.

| Chorley Harriers was awarded CLUB MARK in 2006. Club Mark recognises the provision of a safe and child friendly environment. By gaining Club Mark it helps to demonstrate to parents, sports professionals and educational partners that the Harriers are an accredited club recognised by a common quality kite mark.

We are a very friendly club and welcomes new members of all abilities. Once you've browsed the Website and want further information, please use the "contact list". Anyone of us will be only too happy to provide more information about the club. Please feel free to come along on a Thursday at 7-30pm; you are welcome to have several visits so that you can see the benefits before joining.
